SAP and Lumen Technologies announced a global partnership earlier in 2021 whereby they will integrate SAP HANA into the Lumen platform for businesses using SAP Business One. Lumen hosts and manage this offering to help simplify the configuration and deployment of SAP HANA, supporting value-added resellers (VARs), channel partners and 75,000 small and medium market customers globally.
The Lumen platform – an advanced application architecture that integrates edge computing, global fiber network infrastructure, connected security and cloud connectivity – will manage SAP HANA infrastructure for businesses using SAP Business One. SAP HANA on the Lumen platform use a monthly service-based pricing model for the entire stack of software and services.
“Lumen’s partnership with SAP opened the creative door to develop a service that simplifies how enterprises tap into the cloud – a competitive tipping point for the digital age,” said Paul Savill, Lumen Senior Vice President of Enterprise Product Management. Lumen has extensive experience in cloud management services, combined with the fastest, most secure platform for applications and data – the Lumen platform.
Lumen provides a tremendous amount of flexibility to SAP Business One customers, offering hosting services from Lumen data centers directly, Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. Moreover, Lumen offers various deployment environments including Public Cloud (multi-tenant), Private Cloud (dedicated), and a Hybrid (single-tenant) environment whereby the SAP HANA infrastructure is shared across a specific VAR’s customer base but the other components such as the application/presentation server are dedicated to the specific customer.

Additionally, another unique value proposition that Lumen is able to provide is Canadian-based hosting services via Google Cloud platform (GCP). Google says their new Canadian data centre in Montreal will improve latency by up to 90 per cent for end users hosting applications.
